The first hard frost yesterday but it was a brilliant blue sky all day with a biting north wind. Today, no frost but the damp chill from the hills is more penetrating and it feels much colder.
The Fieldfares have arrived from the north. They were up in the tops of the sycamores and elms at Tunstead quarry.
