I came across and interesting thread in another forum relating to the Dambusters raid. The reading becomes more and more interesting as you progress throught the pages of that thread, i.e. a prominent poster on racing sim forums; his uncle flew Fairy Battles and Hurricanes, and the wife of real life racing driver Chris Irwin being related to Henry Maudsley I believe.
Turns out motor racing historian Doug Nye also has an interest in the raid as well.
If you stay with the tread unbtil page 4, there are some very fabulous photos of the hotel which served as the home of 617 Squadron.
Wouldn't mind those kind of quarters for the HWH Squadron, eh?!
