,..my first sortie was to intercept a recon plane. at about 800hours i made contact one Do17 flying towards the Thames estury, it must have seen me coming as it turned for the clouds, Lucky for me i found it again, it was a cludy day over South England, and yet again it tryed turning for the cloud, i gave chase at full throttle, i gave it two 4second bursts, Bits flew of before its starboard engine caught fire, i watched it go down, and saw 3 chutes.
I then turned and had an uneventful trip home...
..later that same day i was posted to another Sqn flying Spifires'
