Gents,

I've just finished re-reading Richard Hillary's The Last Enemy and was quite surprised that sometime in september 1940 I suspect, Spits from his Squadron came upon Italina pilots, identified as such I presume buy them flying Italian planes. I never suspected that the Fiat's had such a long range as to allow it sorties over England/France from bases in Italy, so can anyone shed some further light on this appearance of areormachi?

Another interesting obsevation learned from the book was that apparently sometimes German and English pilots would be able to talk to each other. I presume at times the adversaries were using exact similar frequencies, by accident rather than by design I suppose, or the blasted radiowaves, i.e. radiowaves blasted from the transmitters, played up in a real-life demonstration of propagation theories such as harmonics and unintentional emissions from onboard antennae leading to a sort of "cross-talk".

Fascinating stuff, really.
