Erm, sorry to correct you but... It's 9am Thursday 30th October, and it's the deputy Mayor not Boris.

Dear Supporter,

Unveiling of Final Version of the Sir Keith Park Maquette Statue

We would like to invite you to our next Campaign event taking place at City Hall, London, at 9.00am on Thursday, 30th October. The Campaign To Date and Next Steps

Selection Process for the final form of the Memorial Statue of Sir Keith Park
A Decision Making Group of Campaign supporters listened to presentations from some of the sculptors who took part in the final sculpture creation process, which will now be submitted to Westminster City Council’s Public Art Advisory Panel, before subsequently forming the basis of our two planning applications later this year. This Group was brought together as part of a process to choose a final version of the Sir Keith Park Memorial Statue. The final decision was made, mindful of the input of the Park family, and the process was concluded with a unanimous decision for one particular proposal

· Event Held at the RAF Museum London (Hendon)

The event at the RAF Museum was a resounding success with many of our supporters attending and enjoying the Battle of Britain Weekend at the Museum and the facilities laid on by the Campaign. Inspiring speeches by both Terry Smith, Wing Commander Brett Marshall, Air Advisor with the Royal new Zealand Defence Force and Peter Gillingwater, Kea (see attached newsletter for further information), were well received by those present. An excellent opportunity for the Campaign Team to meet supporters and supporters to meet each other!

· Website and Campaign Petition

The Campaign website has been revised with an interactive video section containing interviews with Sir Patrick Moore, Edward Fox, Peter Pugh, Terry Smith and a video at City Hall showing Phil Goff, New Zealand’s Defence Minister, presenting Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, a signed letter of support for the Sir Keith Park Memorial Campaign from the New Zealand Prime Minister, Leader of the opposition and all New Zealand political parties. There are also updates to the images page, showing a new selection of images of Sir Keith throughout his life.

To date the Campaign has received globally over 20,000 signatures to our petitions, both online and as hard copies, and we continue to receive many more signatures on a daily basis. If you are aware of any friends or family who have not yet signed the petition and who would be interested in doing so then I would ask you to please pass on either our website details http://www.sirkeithpark.com or forward this email to them

Westminster City Council Planning Applications
The Campaign will in the near future submit two Planning Applications to Westminster City Council. Firstly for the temporary statue on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square, to be installed for 6 months from October 2009 and secondly for the permanent statue in Waterloo Place to be unveiled on or around the 15th September 2010, the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. We will confirm the submission dates for these applications as soon as we are able too.

Thank you for your continuing support of the Sir Keith Park Memorial Campaign
