Folks,

Dux:

We had a real mess as the center of the rotation of the big Nor'Easter hit around Myrtle Beach SC over night. We had 30-35 MPH sustained winds and a heck of a lot of rain. The wind is somewhat less this morning and we have had a patch of sun but bands of rain from the slow moving storm will continue into Saturday with clearing on Sunday as the unnamed storm slowly moves North East. Then we deal with tropical storm/hurricane Kyle. Mercifully, Kyle is expected to just skirt the Outer Banks on the way toward New England. Hopefully Kyle's aim will be poor and he will miss New England as well...

The storm had us 'socked in' so we watched a couple of interesting programs on the Military Channel yesterday. Similar to the "Dogfights" program on the "History Channel". The difference is instead of using computer graphics, this one uses the real planes to recreate famous dogfights. We watched the F86 pitted against the MiG 15 and the Wildcat against the A6M Zero. Excellent, interesting and we got to see the only remaining original flying Zero in action all in wide-screen HD! Cool.

Too bad you could not participate in the birding expedition.
