Gentlemen,

JRT, C51,

Little to report this week unless daily rainfall is of any great interest to you. We've had and are still having plenty of that.

A birding trip to the States and Canada...what a memorable visit that would be. Quite apart from a succession of diplomatic incidents, I fear that the great American public would not take kindly to me being over-sexed, underpayed and over there. The Scotland trip is gaining some interest and rumours must have already spread across the border to the extent that certain fiery Scots are already stocking up on woad in preparation to repel the invader while the regional distillery is working flat-out for the expected high demand. We are looking forward to seeing at least two examples of each species. ;\)

Today's trip to Lancashire yielded Long-eared Owls, Bewick's and Whooper Swans, Peregrine, Hen Harrier, Ruff and so on. Very mild for January.
