Dammit! I can't stand the tension - have to post something...

On the 22nd August 1954, two Sabres of 66 Squadron from RAF Linton-on-Ouse collided over Kinder Scout, Derbyshire, and fell on to Ashop Moor after an excercise that had taken them out over Liverpool Bay. Both pilots were killed. The aircraft were XD730 and XD707. One wing from the latter aircraft shown here. The wreckage is still there - minus quite a few souveniers.
