To the best of my recollection, FCG should be patched with the fc_111y patch. Your qualified success JRT would indicate that you're this close to getting FCG up and running. Fingers crossed that you will prevail.
As you mention Red Baron 3D I remember having that sim sitting on the shelf at the moment. It required quite a lot of work for me setting it up on XP and somewhere along the line of XP reinstalls I never got around to setting it up again.
Same thing goes for the excellent WW1 mod for Fighter Squadron Screaming Demons Over Europe. I see Plane Pack 5 is available in beta form at the moment.
I gather you never had the pleasure of RB3D JRT. What about FSSDOE?. Did other gents of the HWH Sqdr. ever fly these sims?
