This evening the duty crash crew are awaiting arrival of this consignment and...yes! I'm not mistaken! Those two poor clods have been ordered by Olga to stand 40 yards apart on the runway threshhold with a flare in each hand to facilitate a good landing. Let's hope the pilot doesn't drift too far to the left or right! Olga prefers a safe outcome to touchdown because those bounders will have to stump up the wherewithal to cover C.O.D. charges plus insurance and ground handling fees. They have been further ordered to be present at the fitting. Poor buggers...I think this will include the 'ground handling' just mentioned...

P.S. The DC3 has now entered the circuit, escorted by several Blenheim night fighters. These boys have certainly given their full attention to this important, nay, essential mission. Another heart-warming example of RAF/USAAF co-operation.
