I've heard he's in trouble with the law. Those wind chimes were allegedly made from the copper hand rails which he nicked from the old folks home. Such manufacture is restricted anyway under regulations which forbid the construction of trivia using precious strategic metals in time of war.
I wouldn't want to be in his shoes - which were probably somebody else's shoes once, having not been redeemed.
