I received the AV8R stick today and it it now installed. I got rid of most of the remnants of the Norton antivirus programme which is on the shortlist of those that prevent BoB operation unless disabled by following instructions from the web regarding file deletion in the dreaded registry. There are still some Symantec files in the Shared Files folder but I can't be sure which, if any, to delete so I left them alone for the time being.
The Shockwave BoBII was downloaded out-of-box with no problems, and no updates added as yet.
Unfortunately I still can't get past the pre-game screen - the one that shows the sea and distant bombers in low cloud.
I have to work out how to post the DxDiag file for some kind soul to evaluate. All suggestions gratefully received.
