The games are free but it's very slow download. I downloaded a tank game, 367 MB, download time 12 hours, they only give you so much download speed. Also there is a 2 games per day limit.

Janes WW2 fighters, when it came out I didn't think a flight sim could look more realistic. It was fantastic looking for it's day.
Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3 evolved into the WOFF and WOTR we all know and love today.

At the time, European Air War was the "deeper" sim but Janes WW2 Fighters certainly looked much nicer! Hard to believe that was 24 years ago.

I suggest you get the free modded Janes WWII Fighters, (2020 version) Janes WWII Fighters ModDB

No widescreen view though.

Yes, it is a complete game, not just a mod. You do not need the original game.

Currently free on Epic is Evil Dead: The Game, if that's your thing.

Next week it's STAR WARS: Squadrons which may be of more interest. I have no idea what it's like but for free I won't be complaining (hopefully).

I enjoyed it quite a bit when I played it on Steam.

In a nutshell, it's a space combat action game similar to the classic Larry Holland X-Wing and Tie Fighter games from the 90's. However this game is much more focused on multiplayer even though there is a short single player campaign that you can play.

Jane WWII game is very difficult. I was leading 5 BF109G to intercept a flight of Lancaster. First pass I shot down a Lancaster. Second pass I miss to avoid the Lancaster guns, then 2 Spitfires jump on me from behind.

When we made the first and second pass, there were no Spitfires in the area. Where they come from?

They also jump on my flight. One of them scream I am all shot up I am returning to base. Another one scream I am dying!

BF 109G is a beauty. I wish the graphic on the game is better cause it doesn't look like that in the game.

The original game was released in 2013 but just like DCS, there is frequent new content being made for it which includes a major graphics overhaul. The sim now is almost an entirely new game from what it was on initial release.
