I'm quite shocked that Fry's lasted that long.
As for hardware "toys", there's something called AMAZON, NEWEGG, etc.

Unlike Radio Shack, it seems that Fry's took too long in becoming a mostly online presence. When it comes to electronics and computer hardware it just simply doesn't make sense anymore to have a brick & mortar model.

Alas, poor Fry's. I knew it, Horatio.
Used to live in the San Fernando Valley. There was a store in Woodland Hills that had an Alice in Wonderland theme and one near the Burbank Airport with an Alien (as in outer space, not "migrants") Invasion theme. The awning at the Burbank store was a flying saucer that had crashed into it. I bought my first TFT monitor there.
SALUTE TO ALL!

They took over a space that was originally Incredible Universe, which was a Radio Shack venture that failed (shocking, I know), and when Fry's took it over, they didn't really change anything, and it looked more like a warehouse than a retail store.

That's a shame, Athonon. My son was between 7 and 10 years old when I used to shop there. He loved the way the stores were done.

Hmm. Guess I should've used that gift card...
The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

There aren't no Micro Center here. I looked them up. They have a limited presence (only 25 stores) mostly in the Northeast and some Mid-Western States.
