We were on a Armed Recon by the Steinwald Forrest when hit and pushed back by elements from the 10th Panzer SS Regt. I deployed 2 Tank Plat ( M-4's 75mm guns} in a semi circle holding up front. 1 How Tank and 3 M-4A1's in reserve along with 2 haft Tracks and B Company 17th Armored Infantry, I took fire from 2 Panthers on the right flank then re deployed on my left ( a mistake) it gave 2 Hertzers and a PZ4 hiding in the tree line flank shots. after loosing 7 Tanks ( 6 to enemy fire and 1 to bogging down and abandoned I ordered a withdrawl. Enemy losses 1 PZ IV, 1 Hertzer .
