A couple of guys connected to the developers kindly suggested a couple of ways to update the skins, unfortunately as it so often happens, there is no magic trick to do it, the new shader (if that is what is doing it) treats reflections in a different way than in v1.2xx.
Thankfully, when I made the skins updates earlier this year, I anticipated that the developer more likely than not, would not release v2 (now v1.5) in a compatible format, the skins were organizes for easy editing. The DCW 1.5 "shader" tends to a "chromium plating" look, something that looks neat in a '50s Cadillac
Although I could easily make the skins more weathered - I chose a more 'clean' look as there are some issues with the DCS P-51D model that would make this a bit more work intensive, I'll release the updates of all the skins in a week or so.
Thanks for that Tom - I was really hoping that you would do a update to your DCS skins (specifically the P-51D's) as they are such awesome pieces of work. Glad you did, it's very much appreciated!

I don't particularly like flying that aircraft but the skin is about as close to perfection as anyone will ever reach in my opinion...awesome work Tom.

Tom, could You check the USAF "Bad Angel" skin? There seems to be an issue with spec maps on front part of the fuselage, as seen on the insignia. I think I have the latest package of Your textures for this one, might be wrong though.
