After days of successfull flying cargo around I thought let do some quick one's tonight..

Found a nice 90.000 profit flight. Ok cargo total 400.000 but hey, always managed to stay away from pirates so why not..
Well, This time I got interdiction. Don't know why but could not find the escape factor. with in second I had some missiles on my six.. after three more missiles and some laser hits and no way to out run the bandit I almost gave up... shield were down. hull 12% and I just couldn't get a good jump factor for SC. 400.000cr ! down the drain.. At a hull of 2% the countdown suddenly started 4.. .3.. another missile on is way! 2.. 1.. Jump!!!

.
.
The rest of the flight was uneventfull. dizzy

If you are beeing masslocked and need to leave in a hurry don't try to go to supercruise. Jump to another system longer charge (15 sec. vs 5) but you it's actually faster since the charge to SC takes forever when beeing masslocked. I allways try to make an effort to have a destination selected (even if I'm allready where I want to go) from the galaxy map, that way I can press 0 (select next system in route) or equivalent binding, to leave the system in an emergency.

First, unless you are confident of being able to escape the interdiction, it is better to submit. Submitting means your FSD recharges faster.

Second, once in normal space, put all pips on engines and the rest on systems and RUN! Put the bandit on your six and boost away.

Third, I have a key just for supercruise. That way I don't have to align to a planet or system, I can just jump to SC. Might not be ideal, but it saves me from having to find a planet/system that is in the direction I am heading.

Fourth, drop chaff and flares like crazy! Missiles shouldn't be a problem if you have the proper countermeasures.

I've had a few runs where I've escaped with 60% hull or even lower. Early in my career, I've even docked with 1% hull left (no exaggeration!) and another time I had 30 seconds of air by the time I got into the station!

Your advice is good ICE but only if the ships chassing you are smaller/not able to mass lock you. Even worst if the ships can mass lock you and can boost faster or at least keep up with you. If that's the case the only viable solution is jump to another system (provided fighting is out of the question). Like I said jumping to another system takes 15 seconds of FSD charge time compared to 5 seconds to go to supersruise, but if you are trying to go to Supercruise while mass locked it will take forever if you can't get at least 4Km between you and the ships masslocking you.
Aligning with a system to jump out can be problematic but do keep in mind that you don't have to be aligned to charge your FSD you can start charging it as soon as your FSD cooldown finishes and only align when ready for the countdown.
The submission is of course always the best course of action when not able to evade an interdiction but beware that rumor has it that in a furture update this won't give you the reduced cooldown anymore. (40sec vs 10sec).

I see. Well, I'm usually in the Type-9 so if anyone's masslocking another ship, it'll be me biggrin
