Nice find! The wet runway pictures look really cool. Publishing such pics and yet keeping us away from EDGE should be considered torture, though.

Is Azerbaijan on those pics, you can see the flag on one and read Baku cargo terminal on another. Will love to see a Nagorno-Karabakh map to replicate the war there on the 90's or replay new missions. And I agree the wet platform pic is great, wondering If we will be able to replicate that condition on our old Caucasus map once Edge is released.

I meant to say one dated theater option.

Interesting link that HarryR posted. The marketing of Smartgraf with EDGE 2.0 just goes to show they certainly have more than us, the commercial simmers, on their plate. At the bottom of the features page under "DCS World combat employment" there's mention of "Night vision and air-to-ground radar modes ". Of course we don't know if this is just stating it's something they're planning on doing in the future, proof of concept, or they're closer to finishing the feature set.

Anyway, back to waiting.

"We" are not their first tier customers. It's just a fact. And that should be ok with everyone as DCS's sloppy seconds
ain't too bad.

Remember EF2000? DiD had the same relationship with the military and simmers. And that worked ok for a while.

Right, so who's their primary customers? Because considering that all they've got on the mil side is the A-10C for the National Guard and the Mi-8 for who knows who, it's fairly safe to say that professional sims are not their primary market.

That's an interesting product page, though I have to admit an eyebrow did raise slightly higher when I read " Terrain from any part of the world and to any level of detail can be developed in a short time frame."

Define short time frame...

Holy smokes, I do believe this is what is called "being liberal with the truth". An old website with no other media than Flaming Cliffs 1 or 2 and the National Guard A-10C, and some badly edited videos partly containing shaky hand camera recordings. Not one thing time stamped as being from later than 2005, and nothing in the way of press releases, or an indication of actual clients.

If that thing's still in business, I'd be surprised if they're making ends meet. And it certainly hasn't received much attention for 10 years, so I'd say I doubt that the commercial market isn't their primary market even more now.

And how many contracts may they have we'll never hear about? There're NDAs and suchlike, y'know. And verily; I don't know, you don't know, SkateZilla doesn't know and no-one on this board knows. The only ones who know are ED - and they sure as hell are NOT telling us. So where does that leave us but guessing and talking BS?

We know they're making A2G radar for the Hornet. We don't know how far along they are.

Given ED's track record , I would guess 10 years.

Well there's how many, 3 or 4 terrains floating around with professional sim makers, nobody knows how many there are that the public doesn't know about at all (and never will). I think the cheekiness is at least a bit uncalled for.

The fine print is along the lines of "anything goes if you're willing to pay for it". The non-public sector apparently is willing.

Is that why the website hasn't been updated for 10 years? wink

At this rate, I really do think everyone will just have to accept that some cheekiness will exist after some years of broken promises about a new terrain.

Are there or aren't there terrains using ED's technology being used right now in professional simulators? You want to deny their existence?
