Hey everyone! i found a fairly simple way to access the laser maverick on the A-10C. Here are the tutorials i made: Part 1: Setup. DCS: A-10C AGM-65E Tutorial Part 1 (Text and pictures) This tutorial teaches you how to access the Laser Maverick. Part 2: Deployment. DCS: A-10C AGM-65E Tutorial 1.2.3 (HD) (YouTube) This tutorial demonstrates how to use the laser maverick in combat. NOTICE! I did not create this. all content related to the AGM-65E is made by the creators of DCS: A-10C. I myself do not consider this much of a mod, just a simple payload change through unconventional means. I can only credit myself for finding this, aswell as being the first person to effectively use this in combat and making it public.Before trying this it is helpful to know how to use: a.Targeting pod b.Laser guided bombs c.CCD or IR Mavericks d. HOTAS controls e.Mission editor "1337" represents laser code. Default maverick code is 1111, default TGP code 1688. explained in tutorial Part 2. Hope all of you enjoy this i much as i do!

from what i have heard it has to do with whether or not the A-10C uses it in real life, not that it isnt capable but that it doesnt fit the A-10s primary role

Well I'll be. It works! Thanks Benargee! Strange that the MFCD interface exists in game for the E, but that we don't have access to the missile. Maybe ED plans on rolling it out in the future sometime? It is after all, part of the A-10C weapons suite. I see no reason to restrict access to it. Now we just need a laser JDAM and we'll be all set

Yeah, that's the laser code. You change it using the boat switch with the Mav page's MFCD set to SOI. Boat-switch fwd to cycle the number up, boat-switch back to move the cursor to the next number. Very strange. And you have to do it for each missile separately, or just change your TGP laser code to "1111". Should be fun in multiplayer shooting missiles at each other's laser returns.

...oh and i can attest that these things work very well. I didn't play with them much, so i'm not sure what range they're good to, I only know they won't go 20km lol

Soooo, a laser designated target by a Combined Arms Client will be able to direct these E's?
What is that 1337 in the MFD? The laser code or what?

I have this old weapons loadout program for LOMAC called LOPE. At one point a guy had modified a LOMAC F-15C to carry all the Eagle's ordnance -- but I could never hit anything with the hacked munitions so LOPE did not last long in my use...
I don't like to use mods. I use Slmod on my server.
WC yes 1337 is laser code, can be changed, watch tutorial part 2. i would not consider this a mod for the fact the developer made all the associated content, i only found access to it. to use this you have to add nothing to the game, just take laser mavericks from f-16 and it works. it may look weird because you see no image, because there is no image to see, just an indicator where the seeker is looking

I think it is pretty neato, like SUBS said ^^^.. But then we had a conversation a bit ago on a night mission where the TGP and/or IR Mavs were not picking up the A-10C's IR Pointer. It would be great if you could test these Mav-E's with a JTAC's laser -- maybe you have? Fulda Gap, who loves ya, baby? We donna need no stenken TGPs, baby. WC

It would be great if you could test these Mav-E's with a JTAC's laser -- maybe you have?
I'd suppose it should work as it doesn't introduce any new component, but it relies on mechanics already implemented... (Laser codes and tracking...) Color me impressed anyway, this is a very nice mod- I know it's not but I wouldn't know how to call it otherwise.

That's something that could get me worried though...
By using this are we invalidating our Software License? Does anyone from ED have had a word on the forum about this?

LOL! The thread opened in the ED DCS Forum about this was brutally erased.
It was (involuntarily) funny as many moderators, and Nate too, were all " Nah, we can't and have not added the Laser Maverick. Impossible and not allowed"...
Then someone posted the youtube video on how to add it to the payload and how to use it, aaaaand... *POOF* Thread is gone.

If all mavericks launch mechanics works alike, my guess is you can't launch "cold" and lock in mid-flight.

The thread you reference is still here. Note that noone said that it was technically impossible to model the Mav E, just that ED don't have permission to throw it on the A-10.
