There have been previous titles of different eras that have incorporated wing flexing into the aircraft visual models. Most of them were based on heavier aircraft made of metal or composite material.

Would the wings flex in these aircraft a visually noticeable amount when hitting turbulence, or turning? I would think it could be noticed, but maybe it's such an insignificant effect that it's not even worth modelling. It would be a pretty good visual indicator for over-stressing the wings though, especially in planes with flimsy wings.

Was just a wandering thought.

The fact that we have a WWI sim at all, let alone at this caliber, is simply amazing and the team developing it will always have my support because their technical genius is astounding.

Thank you RoF developers for such a top quality product, and Jason for everything else.

Do short wings on any aircraft flex to a visible degree? I haven't seen it in any videos of real aircraft except for as you mentioned airliners and such.

I'd only be interested if it was an aerodynamic as well as visual effect.

I've seen wings flex on a Cessna 172 in turbulence.

Since biplanes have wires and struts, the wings can't really flex (well a tiny, un noticeable amount). In RoF, once these are gone you can in fact see the wings "bend" if you gently push the stick up and down. However, this is usually followed by one of the wings coming off, so you might not have noticed .. smile

The EIII can warp its wings visually (unlike past sims where IIRC you saw nothing, you just rolled), so I would think it COULD be done. Now whether it's worth the effort is something else.
