Will most definitely be seeing this on opening weekend. I can never get enough sci-fi especially considering how rarely we get it now from Hollywood.

I never read the book, was Mars part of it or just the first movie? I didn't see anything about it in the trailer at the theater either. I think Colin will do a good job. Arnie being who he is just makes some movies unbelievable. Good for Conan the Barbarian and Terminator, not quite believable in other flicks. They may have screwed up making the "way back machine" look so similar to the first movie though.
If you look on the web, google it, you will find the original article; it is only about 15 pages long in the The Philip K. Dick Reader xeroxed PDF that I found.

Quite believable in first Predator to, me thinks! With Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura, that was a group. Oh man, how I do miss these "old style" films...
Total Recall 2012!? Nice to have a new SF movie coming out, but must it be a TR remake? Maybe Im geting to old...

Two things make the original "Predator" a classic.
1. Stan Winston's design for the Predator creature.
2. The chemistry between all of the actors who made up the SpecOps team.
As for Arnold himself, he's a good actor and in my opinion, it all has to do with the script.
Terminator, Terminator 2, Predator, Total Recall, Conan - All of these had excellent scripts and thus Arnold excelled in his role.
Collateral Damage, End of Days, The Sixth Day, Kindergarten Cop - All of these had horrible scripts and it made Arnold look silly.

That would be Alan Silvestri's work. He's a very good composer who is also well known for his score for the "Back to the Future" trilogy.

Since I like the original with Arnie, and really can't stand Colin Farrell (I have yet to see a movie with him where I like his acting- maybe "Pride and Glory"), for me this thing is definitely rental material (or more likely pay-TV material).
Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?

You didn't like "Miami Vice"? I know a lot of people didn't like it but I enjoyed it but I admit that Colin Farrell wasn't the best choice for Sonny.

Hart's War Minority Report Phone Booth Fright Night SWAT...ok, the movie sucked, but he wasn't bad in it. London Boulevard, but again, really didn't care for the movie itself.
Regarding Total Recall, it seemed to me that it took the memory idea and various plot bits from both PK Dick, and Robert Sheckley's Mindswap, which did involve Mars, but was rather a black comedy. I still retain from it the wisdom of the martian lawyer, who said (more or less) "you are most fortunate to have secured my services! I have in my career defended 165 clients, and lost every time! It is unheard of! Well, don't you see, the odds against me losing again must be incalculable!"
