Really disapointed the next game is online only. That means there will be no decent offline version of either of the two games. All the first needed was to be able to choose allied flights aswell in the quick battle option. Why that was beyond them I've no idea.

Online only can only mean that there will be no AI coding done. So unless the editor also allows you to build the opponent AI, you will have nothing but bombing and site seeing missions to build.
I don't why they can't include the AI from the previous version. Oh, well. I don't need another FPS game.

From the Russian forum (translated by Google, not verbatim here): there will be a mission editor which will come with a Premium account. So the main game will be free and also subscription free, with Premium you have quicker access to airplanes, Single player content and the Mission editor. User generated missions can be sold by the players on the platform.
MAC
Sold? Someone thinks they can sell user generated missions? I don't think will go over too well. Most mission builders seem to enjoy just letting other people play their missions. I guess it depends on how much premium accounts are going to be. As long as it is in line with normal game prices ($50-$60USD), that would be ok with me.

IIRC, there's more than the 1 game in development. I know there's one for the 360, possibly one for pc in addition to the MMO.
·Steam: Raw Kryptonite ·MWO & Elite Dangerous: Defcon Won ·Meager youtube channel·Intel i5-9600K ·EVGA GTX1070 FTW 8GB ·EVGA CLC 120 Cooler ·16 GB Patriot Memory VIPER 4 3000MHz ·GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS PRO WiFi Mobo · CORSAIR CARBIDE AIR 540 case ·BenQ BL3200PT monitor

Well I think that most user generated missions would be made available for free by the ones who have made them anyway. It may be a nice incentive though to those who set out to build great and complex missions that they have the option of asking for something in return. I have no doubt there would be some kind of rating such missions so the community itself would determine whether or not something would be worth a dime.
MAC True, but who is going to be the guinea pig and buy it before anyone has a chance to rate it? It ends up being a catch-22 situation where no one will buy it because it hasn't been rated but to get rated someone has to buy it. A campaign with several user made missions included might have a chance if the mission builder has a free mini version that a player can demo but a single mission someone is trying to sell will not have that luxury. Another problem is most people won't take the time to rate it after they play it. We have downloads at M4T with thousands of actual downloads and less than 10 ratings and comments on those downloads. No matter how many times they have been downloaded most of the downloads have no comments or ratings at all. I am using M4T as my example but everywhere I have downloaded files the situation has been the same regarding comments and ratings. The aberration in this situation is for someone to comment or rate the download not the opposite. Wheels

When does that ever happen, though? I mean if it were true then we should never have seen the massive proliferation of MSFS payware or defacto payware missions like YAP and Rising Sun. If it is priced cheap enough, people will buy anything.

Seriously? World of Planes will be online only...? You sure they don't mean you have to connect to their server like RoF was initially? (You see they changed that too... ) Hmmm seems like they are really trying hard to screw this up royally..

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

A game billed as massively multiplayer turns out to be online only - who ever could have guessed.

A game billed as massively multiplayer turns out to be online only - who ever could have guessed. Yeah, I'm kinda having trouble seeing the confusion too.

Yeah, I'm kinda having trouble seeing the confusion too. Nah, they're just grumpy old 90's simmers who need to complain about anything just because the game isn't IL-2:1946 with prettier graphics.
