Let's talk about the future of RoF.

I'm personnaly very optimistic these days about the future of RoF.
Judging by the quality of the latest 1.008 patch, I think we can expect something great for 1.009.

So here comes the speculation part...I love speculation lol...

What will the next planes be? I don't think we have any idea about that, unless I am wrong.

Two-seaters? New fighters? Which one?

Ahh so much mystery...

What do you think? right

I haven't heard any rumours about what aircraft we will get next, although I expect the current two-seaters to be made into flyables as soon as they can handle multi-seat aircraft. If they are planning more single-seat aircraft, then they will probably go for one for each side. My guess (hope) is that they will continue with a 1918 aircraft set and that we will see a SSW D.III or D.IV and a Sopwith Snipe. Perhaps even a Fokker D.VIII (less wings = easier to model!).

More AI two seaters would be great to make missions a bit more varied. I'm fed up of intercepting the same two aircraft types over and over again. There are plenty of 1917-and-before aircraft to cover, but I hope they will give us a more comprehensive set of 1918 stuff before going to earlier periods.

We know a track recorder is planned for 1.009 and Dogfight servers can't be far behind.

However, my crystal ball is a bit murky, so all this may be completely and utterly wrong.

Cheers,

RD.

I reckon RD is correct in guessing a Snipe. Certainly not my cup of cammomile though.
I've got enough 1918 flyables now and will be putting the credit card on hold until something with a little more 1916 character comes along.

Just keep the thought here, Fokker D.VIII ..... no, that would be and E.V. Yes! I just hope they do the wing color correctly.

No D.VIII saw combat service in WW-1. The refit of the wing was the dely.

I think we may see the SSW D.III and a Sopwith Snipe. It will most likely be one of the planes already modeled when KoS was first introduced to us.

Its Oooooo exciting!

I would go for that. Lets have a Harry Tate and a Rumpler for starters, although a big Gotha would be nice too.

Assuming that there will be flyables in the 1.009 - after all, they have to make some dosh - what will they be? Looking at the 'Master Plane List' there are no German single-seaters left apart from the Roland D.VI; there are a few Sopwiths on the British list and a Spad on the French though.

Seeing as the Roland is hardly the best aircraft in the pack, I reckon we might see a two-seater or two. Perhaps with only the pilot seat human-controlled to start with, but that would still be great.

cheers

The Roland D.VI would be an interesting left-field choice. It's a very pretty little aircraft with that unusual clinker-built fuselage to give it character. In performance, it was supposedly no better than the Albatros D.Va, although some sources (OK, wikipedia) describe it as being usefully fast (~ 200 kph or 124 mph). There is an odd document linked from the wikipedia site that adds some more information:

Heya RD,

take a look at -- http://wwiaircombat.com/pics/index.php?cat=3

...if you havnt already.

Gives a good indicator of what Neoqb may have held on to model-wise from the old Gen-team.

Oh my, yes please...A DH.2 would be so nice...Anyway it seems Neoqb has quite a lot of 2 seaters already modeled in stock.

I wonder how advanced the FM is for these planes as we speak. Maybe it isn't ^^ But I doubt it.

Ahh heck, i'm waiting fot NeoQB's next announcement almost as much as I am waiting for the next update. Each new update is like if i was waiting for RoF's release again dizzy

Well Petrovich already stated they will fix some FM bugs...well see which one...also well get 2 planes Im sure...I think would be fighters again...I would like to see Fokker DVIII and Sopwith Triplane (also, I would like to see some early war planes but I doubt well see this soon)....and ofcourse, I hope they wil fix disco. errors (#10009 erorr and other) and that they will improve performance...

btw I would really like to see DVII with stronger engine...right now we have the weakest and rarest engine used in DVII....

Fokker DVIII is pretty neat, but I'm not sure I saw it in the Master plane list...

They promised something special for 1009 as far as I remember.
The most special thing for me would be two-seaters for each side.
(or even more seats :D)

And here's my guess :P

I keep looking at what's on the museum hangar walls in 1.008 that wasn't there before.

Hmmm....

Up until then, only flyables were shown...

No, both the two-seaters were already there. There's no Dr.1 or Camel around the edge, so I'd say it's exactly the same pic.

cheers

I'd like to see more AI 2 seaters even if they aren't flyable. As flyable the Brisfit would be great.

I don't see a large update coming without new aircraft, Neoqb will want to keep the $$$ rolling. It would be nice to see some WIP shots of what's on the burner.

Surely it makes much more sense to sort out the SP/MP game?

I'd guess that most players of ROF would happily trade new aircraft for better SP campaigns and the DF servers that seem to be high on the list of 'must haves'?
