I see this is dead now. Shame - but I think it does seem to have lost a lot of players, not to mention stopped development.
I haven't flown it for about a year or more - saving it for something different, but I just hope it will remain available now, considering it has to connect online for everything to work.
I think I got the last campaign files before the site was closed.

I think I got the last campaign files before the site was closed. Well, not quite dead yet. Official development has pretty much been non-existent for some time now, but there is an excellent 3rd party campaign mod called Pat Wilsons Campaign Generator that is still being updated. You may wish to try it. You can find it here: PWCG Unified Beta If you are looking for deep WWI single player campaign action, you may wish to visit Wings Over Flanders Fields. It is still in development (the devs are working on a WOFF UE - Ultimate Edition) and has an active community. WOFF 3 (current iteration) Screenshots / Videos Thread WOFF 3 Screenshots & Videos

Ah, thanks for the link! When using the link on the first page, I found that the domain was up for sale, so pretty much gave up on updates - but it seems it has moved. good stuff and, as ever, thanks to Pat.

I think I got the last campaign files before the site was closed. Not dead actually. Lots of activity on a new version. Link: http://riseofflight.com/forum/forum/394-pat-wilsons-campaign-generator/

There are still organised events, this month's Bloody April has. 100 plus registered pilots from all over the world, last month's Flanders in Flames organised by JG5 regularly had 40 /50 flying, Cubans Sunday Vintage Missions have regular players. Whilst acknowledging the developers lack of recent input, new players are still trying their skill in the virtual WW1 skies! Most weeks regular players answer 'how do I start engine's' questions from what clearly are newbies. We try to help these people because it's the new players sustained interest that will keep this SIM alive. Jason , producer of 777 studios has indicated a wish to revisit and improve the game. We live in hope!

Jason , producer of 777 studios has indicated a wish to revisit and improve the game. We live in hope! Hm, not to rain on your parade but really recently (either in one of the developper's diaries or update threads) Jason said that there would be no work on RoF in a long time - and this seemed to imply that all other IL2 projects, which project in the next 5 years or more, would probably happen before that. I'd love nothing more than seeing RoF worked on but Jason clearly sent the signal that it wasn't the case. If I can find the time and dig up Jason's post about that I'll add the link here. EDIT: here were go: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/28330-request-1c-and-777/#entry455051That obviously doesn't mean he wouldn't like to or will never do it, but judging by the fact that he could foresee things for IL2 in the next 5 years, I think that's certainly indicative of the sort of timescale we're talking about. My guess would be that at this stage it's a question of whether or not ROF 2 will happen one day in the distant future
