http://www.theaerodrome.com/aircraft/germany/fokker_dviii.phpThey only made 36 DVIIIs? Talk about obscure and historically insignificant. At least the Snipe and the Dolphin created some aces. When will we see those? Shades of "IL2 1946", looks like..."whatif" planes... HT
Exceptional engineering...and a large hammer to make it fit!

At least the other 39 craft are fairly useful eh. If you are talking numbers DR1 didn't have all that many compared to say Se5 or Camel.. but would you leave it out? Many people want it, as they do the Snipe and Dolphin and Gotha, and HP and .. <insert favourite craft here> which are also not in the high numbers. Yep we make 1 craft end of war and it's now IL2 1946?! LOL! I think you'll find the EV was actually IN the first world war not after it at least. The EV will be in historical squads. It was also pretty significant in it was one of he first thick foil wing monoplanes with good performance from even alow power rotary. Also great field of view below, and wonderful simple construction. The DVIII is the same craft basically with a fix to the structure but that did not fly (although was sitting on fields in 1918 before war end) and won't be in any squads, so don't panic eh? Many people also want the big bombers but you will hardly get near one in RL either. We are also making a DH5 (workhorse but not popular eh?) N24,N23, N28 and others so hopefully one day we'll have a broad spectum. We have dozens partly done, and some craft are for the fun of it too where others are to fill a serious role (ooo having fun in a WW1 sim never!?). We'll get here. You can of course not buy it and instead fly a DFW as pilot or observer if you choose or maybe something else.

I'm glad some frequently overlooked aircraft like the DH-5 will be modeled - It would be great for ground attack missions. I agree that other common workhorse 2 seaters would also be invaluable at filling out the virtual skies - rather than always encountering the same two seaters.
I look forward to any and all upgrades - free or not. Hex

It just was way down on my list of planes that should be added (yes, the Snipe and the Dolphin and certainly the N28 -- America's first fighter -- would come way ahead). The only one I know who was lobbying for the DVIII was WF2. But, yes, of course I'll buy it. HT

Seems you missed it but it's way up on my list also. I have already ordered the castor oil Technically seen it marked a turning point in aircraft design and was used in the Russian-Polish War later. Cheers
