The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events. More dumb stuff at http://www.darts-page.comFrom Laser: "The forum is the place where combat (real time) flight simulator fans come to play turn based strategy combat."

nice setups, but whats with the serious lack of multi monitor displays ?
putting all that effort into building pits, and then just having a single small monitor in front of you just seems disproportionate. 3x 28' would be perfect for that sim, rez not to high, older game that is not to fpsec intensive, and the immersion factor would immensely increase
Be advised, we got zips in the wire

Good report Erik, thanks. Yeah, those guys appear to be very serious indeed. Although I have to agree with rootango about the multi monitors. Maybe they just weren't in the pictures. I don't know, I can't see myself lugging my PC, monitor and HOTAS out the front door. Unless there was a fire or something.

Germany always gets the cool stuff...
That looks like a lot of fun. Now they just need to add some multi-monitor 3D setups! Maybe, but it's a Dutch initiative, with German input (IIRC). Multi-monitors might be too much gear to bring to the LLTM for most. Last time I was there ('08?), Urze was showing off Black Shark on 3+1 screens.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I only hope I began to capture the awesomeness that is LLTM. I wasn't able to bring my PC on this trip and participate, but I still had an ear-to-ear grin all three days I was there.
@rootango and 20mm: There were a number of multiple monitor setups at the LLTM - apparently I just didn't select those photos! I specifically remember one of the LockOn participants who had an LCD widescreen, an old boxy CRT, and a mini-touchscreen. It's gotta be hard enough taking your desktop on a road trip, let alone additional monitors. Even if you could drive, the cost of gas in Germany is four times what we pay here in the US, and the cars are much smaller. There was also dimension limits on the cockpits to ensure enough space for everyone. I'm surprised there were as many large cockpits there as there was!
@murkz I'll put together a photo album of the shots I took. In the meantime, you can google "LLTM 2010" and find some youtube videos with more footage of the equipment brought. I didn't see any setups like the Urze Black Shark setup, but there was more than enough toys there to blow me away! I only wish I had been more persistent about getting into one of the F-16 cockpits for a Falcon mission (or two, or three, or...). Maybe next year!

That was a great article there. There are several "cons" that happen based on specific games around the US now in particular the ones that are in place for Ace's High 2 and Warbirds come to mind.

BTW. as far as i know Falcon will not (to bad) support multi display setups for the main screen. Correct. I'm sure that it the main reason that the F-16 pits by and large are only designed around single monitors. Great article, Einstein. I've heard a little of the LLTM before, but never really grasped what it was. I would love to see it in person.
