Although they call it a thunderstorm, this storm was more like a hurricane we had hurricane Force cat one winds for about 10 minutes. Which did an almost unbelievable amount of damage as we're not prepared for hurricanes. Over 800 power poles and main power pylon are down. It's a real mess.

There were a lot of weather related issues (high winds, heavy rain, falling trees, etc.) It wasn't just one event, there were like 3 major ones in the summer alone.

https://www.theoaklandpress.com/2021/08/12/fast-moving-storm-knocks-out-power-to-250k/ Over 800k were without power. At that point, you know you weren't going to get power for awhile.

Looks like a lot of electric company employees in the area will be putting in overtime for a while!

Hard to believe but we still don't have power almost five days later. They're not sounding too optimistic about getting it anytime soon either

Wow. How are you getting by? Are there pockets with power to get food/gas and recharge cell phones, etc?

Yeah we're doing pretty good, like you say there are Pockets here and there where there's power we're getting phones charged and finding restaurants to eat. It just gets boring after a while. And it's annoying we can't get any real information on what's affecting us. So really we're doing alright just fed up with it all!

The other thing is the gas there were shortages and difficulties getting gas. But luckily we have two cars and I kept both of them full. So I still have plenty of gas.

Hi guys, it's Saturday still no power, and that makes it a week without power. This truly is ridiculous. The only answer I've got from the power company is it's really bad and it will take a couple more days. We live in downtown Ottawa not out on a remote Mountain somewhere. But it doesn't look good. So I hope Osak can make it to the game this week and make it four people. Because it doesn't look promising for me. But I will post on Monday and let you know if I can be there or if I think I can't be. Sorry about that.

Thanks for the update, Prof. That sucks. Rhino got his power back early Friday morning. Hopefully your power is back on soon.

Finally got power at 4:00 pm today. That was a long wait, 8 days, but I'm confident now that I'll be there for the game Monday night !

Great missions last night. All that was missing was meatshield. Maybe one day we'll have a 6 player session of MM.

No OSOK for this Monday, but I have two new missions regardless. One in Cambodia and one in Africa.

I won’t make it tomorrow night since it’s “Juneteenth” so I’ll be watching the BET Network all night.

Hahaha..actually I’m on vacation and out of town so I’ll see you guys the following Monday.
