Question: What is up with what appears to be a folded American flag tucked away next to the window?

Don’t know. Could be a memorial flag for a lost friend. Don’t think he keeps it there when actually flying.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

I'm guessing it will be presented to someone as "Flown over X in an F-15 by.."

Flags are flown in various DoD aircraft nearly every day for the purposes of presenting them for various occasions. When I was assigned to a unit in DC, we had flag requests to be flown all the time. Since we were an ANG unit, a member that retired from our unit would get a flag that was flown by a fighter, a USCG helo, and various installations involved with our mission. The flag was then presented at retirement. It is a common practice.
