if you were a HORIZONS owner (which I knew you were) it is automatically added to your account in the LIVERIES section.

I put it on my Fighter since I would never otherwise buy a Fighter Paint Job. As I understand you can use in on ANY SHIP, FIGHTER or SRV

Cool deal regarding paint job. I totally missed that announcement. With regards to CG’s, I agree that the main reason to partake is to hang with me droogies. Money being basically a non-issue for the majority of us, I’d think.

On the carrier aspect, there really is no micro management of them unless you plan on making geld with them via trade. More thought to follow....

All I use my FC for is a mobile base/port. All my modules and fleet in one location is a huge boon for me. Not having to pay transportation costs in nice. Operating costs are circa 25 mil per week depending on how many jumps. It’s worth it for me for the convenience of having all my toys always instantly available. YMMV

Last week was 24.7 million if I recall, think I had 1 or 2 jumps( 200k per). I have all services except the black market one. So, yeah 24 million plus per week regardless whether I login or not. The way I look at it, it’s only 6 boom time delivery missions outta Shinrarta if I get lucky. I dumped a billion in my FC bank when I got it, still have around 500 mil. Gotta spend the coin on something, neh? Especially with no new ships on the horizon.

WOW.. Shinrarta still has those good Boom Time missions? Last time I logged in, I was running around my usual stations and the best I could find were only in the 1-2 million range. I even kitted out to haul Passengers, but didn't find anything worthwhile there either like there used to be (High Payout for short hops).

If the stars align, I can usually get the 180 ton kind for 6 mil or so. Of late, not so much. If not, 25 mil is easy to make doin almost anything. Do a couple of assassination missions, massacre missions, or even bulk hauling.
It also helps if I turn in bounties at my FC. Even tho I lose %25 of the payout to me personally, that quarter goes directly to the carrier’s bank. Helps to offset operational costs somewhat. It’s sort of my own personal IF. Unfortunately, I can’t pay off fines or bounties I’ve accrued.

Yeah true. I was casting around for something to do the other night to chill out and make some cash, but nothing was really popping for me. Be good to join up and stack some Massacre missions sometime, though.. THAT was kind of fun, even though we got hammered with the PATCH cancelling missions. I think I still got paid for that, though...

I guess so, that you have to spend it on sumpin', that is. I guess it gives you some direction, a purpose or a goal, which in Elite is gold. I see that side of it. But I'm too hot and cold with this game. Fleet carriers had just a fleeting appeal to me, and that was more due to what I thought they would be rather than what they ultimately became.

How do your friends help with this? If I logged on and wanted to help defray your costs what would I do?

The crew helps usually by donating Tritium. Donations only work if my fuel tank is not full, however. When James and are Reccy hitched a ride when I went to Colonia, I had to put up a buy order for Tritium on the carrier’s market in order for them to sell it to me. I generally have that purchase order up, usually at the lowest price allowed.

Another way would be to turn in bounties. 25% of the value goes to my FC bank.

That said, obviously I don’t expect anyone to help me pay for the upkeep of it. It IS appreciated when people do, however.

OK cool, if bounties help then that is a good and easy one to do. I have yet to even see a FC up close. I gotta log on at some point and catch back up. I still have triple Elite to hit.

There’s a CG goin on right now involving conflict between the Fed and Imperials. Some of us are down there kicking in. My FC is a 7ly jump away since the CG systems are always full up of carriers. You’re always welcome to wing up with us.
