That last in game picture absolutely looks real. Look at the fog, awesome. If we just had a switch to release the O2 mask and let it hang at low altitudes. Fabulous picture mate.
Had to step away for a bit. It seems awfully quite around here. I took a flight just to look around and for fun and WOTR still looks stunning. Edit: and 1 more old one I like.
Something I heard many years ago, an announcer trying to rouse up support for bingo players.. "any more for any more, prize bingo" - basically asking if any more people are coming to play more bingo .
Yes V6 version rare, but phased out shortly after the war due to steering issues.
Yes, also reportedly the climb rate on that Pony was inferior to all the Luftwaffe threw up against it so yes, right after the BOB it was put out to pasture early. Here are 'a few more for, you guessed it, a few more'.

Returning home from a late Patrol on a cold winters night.
Far too peaceful, all these artistic shots. Time for some shameless depiction of good old-fashioned gratuitous violence. Courtesy of a Quick Combat Stuka party, pending resumption of my 65 Squadron campaign after an enforced absence from ops.
'Twas a peaceful enough start, admittedly...
...but thankfully, it soon turns quite nasty...
Not a happy ending though, if you try to hasten the demise of a Stuka with a dead prop by ramming. Hurricanes are strong; Stukas are stronger.

WOTR now all set up on the BootCamp side of the Mac Pro (2013) and it flies and looks great. Most settings work well at maximum, cloud shadows/density are at 6, ground shadows at 2 - same settings as for WOFF PE on the Mac - and there is no flickering whatsoever - on an ATI card, lovely! Terrain/scenery budget texture tweaks, in the pics below, are the identical ones I use for WOFF PE - taken from my long WOFF-on-a-Mac post (info. is under the relevant BootCamp section there). Outside views usually give an average of 100-120 fps - cockpit views usually don't drop below about 65-70 fps, not even near ground level. I'd say the budget texture tweaks bring an extra 10-15 fps into WOTR - although the fps are just fine even at stock settings. Will tinker with the level-4 variant (budget/texture tweaks) that Panama Red created for WOFF PE - to see how it functions in WOTR too.
Happy flying, Von S

Welcome VonS, love your FM tweaks over on the WOFF PE side. Hope you enjoy your experience with WOTR. She is something special in the way of WWII Combat Flight Sims. Nice pics Sir.

Thanks for the warm welcome gents' and pleased to be here - from a few days of flying I can say that this is just as good a sim as WOFFue/pe, well done OBD. With WOTR and my little install scenario for early WW2 in SF2 I can now do some casual WW2 flying when the fancy strikes me. Very nice.
By the way, when landing the Spit in WOTR, I recommend coming in on one magneto - this gives smoother landings than two magnetos and flaps extended (the Hurri. has more subtle flaps - stage one good for takeoff, stage two for landing). On the Spit. however I managed to do a fine three-pointer by not using flaps at all and only one magneto - good touchdown speed is about 130-140 kph.
Happy flying, Von S

A couple of more pics. - really getting into this sim, yes siree "bob." Nice sun effects in the one with a downed BF-109 in the background. In the other, had difficulty getting the wheels down (manually) - the left one partially collapsed while rolling, probably took some damage from the 109. Didn't dare to apply brakes but let her roll to a stop with engine off.

If you look in that shot you can see the trail of smoke going way back where I have murderously clobbered this Hun. Then this happened after he pulled up......
"Hello Red 2 this is Rupert Leader calling, the Bloody Hun hit the silk!"
"Hello Shortjack this is Rupert Leader calling, forming up so I can bring the boys home! Jerry'll not be happy with having his arse handed to him today!" "Hello Rupert Leader Shortjack calling, Good Show Old Chaps! Good Show!!!"
