Thank you Red I'll be grabbing UOC II the first of the month played the pants off the first one Also thanks for the look back..My first board game was the old Avalon hill Blitzkrieg after a neighbor gave me a copy of S&T magazine with a simple war game in side pennies for infantry dimes for armor and saw I was interested that was 71 straight out of the military and was hooked in an instant,,We play about all the Avalon hill titles right through Advanced Squad leader and graduated to the SPI titles and played as teams in War in The East..Sadly over the years folks moved away or passed away but then i got a C-64 and found computers and here we are..The was nothing better than thumbing through the ASL rule book and arguing over what rule meant what today Folks and family here think I'm strange spending time flying and war gaming and reading military history books But I wanted to teach history when I was younger just got lost for quite a few years when I came home.. Got a smile on my face remembering those old days Waiting a few weeks for UOC II to see how it goes ,,Bought CC The Bloody 1ST and it's buggy as heck..So I'll play CC II for a bit longer

@rwatson,
Your welcome!
Glad there´s some love for the boardgame side of wargames. While I do like "some" PC wargames, I still prefer moving counters, clipping them and reading through the rules. We are in a quite good boardgame wargame era at present, alot of good titles coming out. My YT channel basically deals with wargames and I try to promote wargaming overall, with the hope that it stay´s alive and captures new players to enjoy this hobby.
One of the hardcore goodies from Decision Games...

Always to meet like minded folks..Today 's world is just different ,,Who could compare reading a book on a kindle to the feelings of holding a real hard cover book,,The same feelings Red expressed ,,good to meet men who feel the same..holding a board game is almost a sensual experience that a digital game can't compete with..Love the COH video are those real 3D buildings popping up ???..wore out my complete COH set and COD II

Yes the digital era has taken over for the most part. While Iam a tech geek of some sort, I just don´t find moving counters on the screen much fun to be honest. Don´t know why but I think to fast when I do that, so it just dosen´t feel like Iam playing a wargame. Any how, I think boardgames can presume of good health these days, of which Iam glad for. Even D&D and 40k are in good health these days, so we will win this war!
If you mean CoH boardgame, yes those are real 3D buildings and flag post.
No Enemies Here (NEH) is Dan Pancaldi´s YT channel, great guy from Canada. His show comes on every Saturday with news, unboxing and events...
Great way to start your Saturday mornings with a coffe.

@rwatson,
If you like ASL, and don´t want the hassel of boardgame set-up, you might like "Tigers on the Hunt" (Matrix Games). It uses the ASL starter kit rules set, and theres mods for the counters and map which use the ASL art work. This is one of the wargames I do enjoy on PC...
There´s the upcoming Holiday sale that Matrix Games does every year, it usually starts on Dec 3rd. Most (except new releases) will be +50% off, so these sales are great if you like any of the Matrix Games.
Thanks Red I liked the Squad Battles series,,Sadly I'll need to buy them again,,My CD's are messed up ..Went ahead and bought UOC II..pretty good I was getting tired of the Eastern front.. When it was released I grabbed Close Combat the bloody 1ST..That one needs a bit of work..Still planning on grabbing the DLC's for Tigers on the hunt..There are sure a lot of mods/scenarios at Matrix I had a lot a couple years back but they went south
Red That looks like something I would play I prefer tactical..Although I do like TOAW IV and starting to like the two Unity of Command games level games..Not super but better than the latest Close Combat release
