I'm pretty sure I am going to take the plunge. I preferred the feel of X-Plane but found the whole interface kind of clunky. That issue is fixed with XP 11 and now we also have VR support with the help of FlyInside..

The atmospherics and lighting look much improved.
But I do not understand why they didn't overhaul the cloud/weather system. It still looks like crap. It takes years of updates to refine every X-Plane update. 10x was no different, this is just an early Beta 1 release. Having been a part of the X-Plane movement since 1999 and version 5.2. Patience is all that is needed. And always keep your installer updating to fix the issues as they are corrected.

Got my digital download key and downloading now. Tried the demo first. Going to take 68gb for the entire earth scenery. Just going for North and South America for now. Will install the rest later. Is the full game out? Or just the demo? I'm confused.

I've tried the Beta and so far impressed! I have three screens for display and it was a pain to set up for FSX to the point that I just played single-screen and just used the other screens to chat with other pilots and surf the web.... while flying. TM WH and Saitek pedals got recognized straight away, although the "defaults" were wrong. Also the obligatory "dance" of setting the toe brakes... So what's the difference between the demo-demo and the full-package-demo? Just the a few airports vs. the entire world? AFAIK, the aircraft are the same.

Would be appreciated thx
seems that in Flight sims, In Canada, if you're not Toronto nor Vancouver, you're not worth time to be well made....

Patience is all that is needed. And always keep your installer updating to fix the issues as they are corrected. I use XP10 so I'm aware of how it works. But there's basically zero chance they are going to change the fundamentals of the clouds/weather dramatically now because it would require a major rewriting of the system (by their own admission). If that didn't happen before this first beta release, it's not going to happen in XP11's lifecycle. Regardless, they'll be addons and the new lighting and how it deals with vis/horizons is worth the price of admission alone.
