I bought EAW in 1999 to play the game, and I still really enjoy playing it However, I genuinely wonder how many other people are actually playing EAW for enjoyment. From the contents of most posts the contributors seem to be far more interested in making EAW mods for others to enjoy. Obviously I am aware of the regulars who fly online at GameRanger, but is anyone flying in career mode, or flying offline single missions? If so which theatres and aircraft do you enjoy flying in?

Single offline Occasionally--SAW just for the planes SAW is an amazing piece of work. BOB and SPAW are awesome as well (sorry guys, another shameless piece of teamwork promotion, Rotton50, Skylark, Mad Prof, and me). .

As far as I am concerned :
- I really love to play online against human opposition fullreal settings, no padlock, etc.. in an historical accurate (well sort of) environment, that's the most entertaining thing. I really miss the squadron online war. So you can meet me every sunday late mornning or afternoon at gameranger.
- I play offline in single mission to train myself moves and gunnery and when some of my favourite plane are not in the campaign settings (Japanese F1M2 Pete, Russian planes (I-153, Lagg-3, Yaks), early RAF birds like the whirlwind or the car door typhoon, ect...)
- I love offline campaigns : My favourites campaign/planes are : * SAW (I-15) * AITW (MS406 - D520 - Curtiss H75, MB 152...whatever french fighters, Defiant) * Dunkirk (Defiant, Br693) * DAW (Fiat CR42...whatever italian fighters) * New Guinea (Ki-43, Ki-61), or SPAW(zero) * ETO TPE (Bf109F, Fw190A)
I really love the concept of Moggy historical missions which for me are more like a campaign. Dunkirk is brilliant !
Never tried BOB, MALTA, Iraq
I really miss the eastern front (I dream about a Normandie Niemen campaign) but I'm working on it. And also a japanese floatplane campaigns...

Still play EAW, though iam still short in time. Mainly single missions ETO/FAW.
If you think `thats close enough´, go closer, until the plane fill up the windscreen, then a short burst is enough!

I like them all but my favorite theater is without any doubt ETO 44-45. My favorite airplane is the He162, how I would like an HR multiskin staffel A multiskin Fw190A staffel from Julio Junqueira would be also very nice and pretty easy to do with your tool converter. And yes play offline now and rarely more than one hour a month, too bad... I miss those so good online games but 1/ Of course I lack of time 2/ My Old PC looks to slow for online game even if EAW140RV2 is running pretty well. But May is full of big week-ends this years so... Cheers, Olivier

I bought it at release. Played here with some members on Hyperlobby to show how far back we are going. I have not played EAW in roughly 18 years Il-2 put paid to EAW, and have not looked back. Glad you all still play, but for me EAW is consigned to history. Who was it, Charles Gunst? Can't believe that came so easily back to me. I can't recall what I had for breakfast, but I can remember this! His ECA, and multi-skin, and the extrasquads edits gave EAW an extended life for me. But it fell behind (no offense to the hard work here) and I stopped playing and moved on to other sims. Still have my CD and manual. Although it's no longer for me, I wish you lot many more years of EAW goodness
No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!
