For games, more is usually better. For the card to store all the visual things it sees (.dds, 3D models, etc), it needs memory to accomplish this.
I doubt that CFS3 (an old 2002 game) or WOFF which is based off of it, would notice the difference in speed between the DDR3 and DDR5 cards, but I think it would notice if it could not put everything into it's memory to draw the next screen.

I would go for the card with the DDR5 memory. I was reading up on this and many video cards are 'gpu bound' when gaming - in other words more memory will not help at all. Of course the best would be to find a site that would compare the two.
I did read a report of two identical cards like you say, one with 2Gb DDR3 and another with 1Gb DDR5. The 1Gb card was faster. The cards were HD7850s. Both made by MSI.

I just purchased the game with the recent Holiday Season discount. My question is on video card memory. I'm currently running on an AMD 3.5GHz Processor with on-board AMD R7 Video Chip and 8GB of Memory. I'm looking to upgrade the Video as I don't think its going to handle the air activity in France.
I'm looking at something along the lines of a Geforce GT 730 which fits my budget. The question I have is on the Video Memory. For approximately the same cost I have the option of 2GBs of DDR5 or 4GBs of DDR3. Is there an advantage of one over the other? Memory speed or more, slower, memory.
Also, I must apologize for the somewhat silly ID (ie. Layzbones), but that's what I flew under in the old RB3D on-line world, 10-12+ years ago. I had to resurrect it. Be aware that your PSU can handle the Vcard when moving over to the GT730. Personally I would never get that type of card, think it is a rather low end vcard to play WoFF.

I reckon 2gb is enough for WOFF, but a 730 is a low end card - I would look at least at a 750 Ti 2gb DDR5 (a 760 2gb is a lot better again). I know it's a bit over twice the price of a 730 but it's more than twice the card. I play WOFF on high settings on a GTX580 3gb - old now but a high end card in its day and still cuts the mustard.

Thanks everyone for the responses. It would seem that what I really need to do is investigate the GTX 750 (or above) and make the stretch. The real problem is not the cost of just the card, but I also am looking to invest in pedals and Track IR. It all begins to add up. Layzbones, go for the card and TrackIR and put a hold on the pedals for now if money is the issue.

Probably best to get a better card if you can stretch a bit GTX 750Ti for example. Good advice. This is my current card and it eats WOFF like popcorn. Course I have a pretty good system backing it up which is one of the "dozen variables" I mentioned above. And definitely invest in a TrackIR. Once you use it you will wonder how you got along without it.
