Right, my thottle pedal spring broke the other day, and having contacted Thrustmaster they are sending me out a new pedal set. However they don't seem to want the old ones back, so I have the idea of modding them into some rudder pedals. The pedals don't have their own usb, so I'm guessing a leo bodnar would be the way to go to connect to USB, the mechanism for making them a little more rudder like is where I could do with some suggestions, should I use both the pots from the pedals or would one be best? Any suggestions or links to similar projects would be appreciated.

Just released a Hempstick rudder mod demo document, here at http://www.hempstick.org/jforum/posts/list/11.page. USD $39 board straight from the horse's mouth, Atmel. Up to 120MHz, 12bit ADC (software oversampled to 14bit).

I don't really read this forum... so, please don't expect response from me here. Questions? Post them on http://www.hempstick.org/jforum.

I rebuilt my RCS pedals because I hated the center spring and it's pronounced detente as you cross the center, so found them to be kinematically unsatisfactory. I still have my old spring if you want it... Here's an album documenting the mods I did to these pedals, which improved them 100% IMO. http://imgur.com/a/rnk2T

List of mods:

new centering mechanism
precision pivots
replaced pot
felt slides to eliminate scraping
new pedal decks
new shims/reworked pivots for pedal decks and crossbars

Not shown in album is the Combat Pro pedals and fabricated heel rests mounted on top of the decks after ditching the stock plastic foot rests.

I use them plugged into my Cougar still so didn't wire to a new board, but I did make a set of sailplane rudder pedals that still say ' Logitech Attack III' when I plug them into the computer, which doesn't care how a pot gets twiddled.. :p http://i.imgur.com/yKfrKYR.jpg
