Just saw this one over at Warthog News and wondered how did it start and have any to share?

The most important thing in fighting was shooting, next the various tactics in coming into a fight and last of all flying ability itself.

Oh wow, that's excellent! Is it the crew chiefs that paint them or do they 'get somebody in'?

Door art depends, in ACC you can't have door art, Reserves and Air National Guard you can. PACAF last I heard you could and I'm not sure about USAFE.

When I did the doors to my jets when I was on active duty a few times I worked with the pilots but most of the time I came up with the design and paid the artist to paint it.

A friend and former A-10 crew chief has a facebook page devoted to A-10 door art:

There is a Euro-1 (green) jet with a yellow smiley face as her door art. I did that at Osan in 97/98.

Paul, my jet came from Osan and it had a letter in the forums that gave permission. My jet is currently in phase now with the door off to be painted in the next week or so. smile

BTW, I crewed 177 at Snowbird in Tucson this past month (just got home Saturday). It's normal CC didn't make the trip and mine is in phase. Great jet!

That's an awesome shot Paul! If that was landscape it'd be my desktop pic. WK's are great too but thought it might be a bit weird to have you on my desktop lol.

This is my current desktop, which I thought was a great shot.

I didn't, it's a real A-10. Downloaded from the Warthog news site I think.
