Hi all,

I've been a TM guys for awhile and we fairly good at programing in Foxy. I finally put away my HOTAS Cougar (never did all the mods to the SSC was a bit too expensive and the precision on the stock was not good) and bought a CH Fighterstick, Throttle, and Pro Pedals.

I'm trying to learn the programing on these sticks.

I was curious about the HOTAS for BMS 4.32. I notice in the keyboard files (BMS one) that the HOTAS settings have no key assignments. I do remember in other programs that the standard setups for the Cougar were such that the HOTAS was the default for the Cougar system and no programing was needed.

Is there something similar in the CH Products for BMS? Are the TMS, pinky switch etc set up as default for the CH Products. Any help would be great.

I'm a little light on mechanics on this. When I am in BMS 4.23 in the setup area. There is a window to select the keyboard map. It has BMS, Keymap, etc. Which one do I choose in that set up to go with this file.

Did you, transfer the keystrokes file from your F4-AF installation into BMS? If so, you'd select the keystrokes file in the setup screen.

Ah ... I did not. So I assume there is a folder in my old AF install that has that keystroke file and if I copy and paste it into BMS I should be okay?

Don't do this. There are numerous changes and new entries in the BMS key file you will need / want.
Use a BMS 4.32 dedicated key file.

Cheers

Nutty, please, show us. Alas, I couldn't find the BMS keystrokes file (that was any better), so that I could make a .cmc file any better than the one from F4AF/Free Falcon...

Hi bud

.key files sit in the User / Config folder.

There is no problem with using a cmc file with whatever assignments you want in it.
The problem is that those assignments are tied to a particular .key file.
If that .key file isn't based on BMS 4.32, you'll see two consequences:

1.) Certain menus won't work, for example some Tower menus.

2.) You're missing out on new callbacks introduced with BMS.

It's all in the BMS forums.

Cheers

Nutty

Thanks Nutty. I'll work on making the .cmc more user friendly...
