No worries, mate. Thanks for the heads up.

To be honest, I just did a search in the three CoD forums (this one, extended, and archives) and the earlier Redtails thread never showed up. After much discussion, I think the general consensus was that it was going to be a real "Hollywood" production ie. long on computer-generated spectacular aerial combat sequences, but perhaps a little short on accuracy wrt flight modelling and actual events as they occurred. Nonetheless, it should beat watching a chick flick by a country mile, so bring the popcorn! LOL popcorn

The tuskagees were actually credited with sinking a destroyer with a P-47 (I think it's a P-51 in the video?). Propaganda? I guess if someone left some AAA shells lying around on the deck, with their butts facing the sky, and a round from the P-47 hit the fuze on the one of the shells and it exploded, setting off all the other shells, which penetrated the deck somehow and hit the fuel or a magazine and... naaaaah. Propaganda.

Realizing it is a cut scene, I also like how the P51 cuts the wing off a Me262 with a snapshot in a 27g turn!

Horrido!

You know you guys can sit and nitpick this thing all you want, but it's about time we got another aviation movie and what better story to tell than the Tuskeegee airman.

FYI it looks like Cuba Gooding got promoted from the last Tuskeegee film. lol Actually I'm pretty sure he died in the original HBO movie.lol

If you look carefully you notice that in this scene P-51 make a double kill, a Bf-109 and a Me-262 (+200 extra points). smile

I'm gonna go see it regardless. The bomber streams look pretty cool. Hopefully the story wont be smarmy and full of cliche like Pearl Harbor. Although, I do enjoy that one for what it's worth. And Kate Beckinsale is the greatest British invention to date smile

@Snacky - I'm also waiting for Peter Jackson's Dambusters in 3D! (2012 or 2013)

@Sokol - Yeah but he didn't make it back to base so only +100. Wait.......does the 262 give you 200 for the twin engines? (+150)

Horrido!

waveHello guys ( specially HeinKill ) here is some details about "destroyer sinking" - excerpt from OSPREYS book "332nd Fighter group - Tuskegee Airmen" ( Aviation elite units 24 )-in that time "Red Tails were flying P-47S :

page 45

"Pruitt and Peirson set a course for home that carried them over the Italian port city of Trieste. There before them in harbour, steaming towards the open sea, was what they identified as a German destroyer.Pruit and Peirson, flying side by side, opened fire.Pruit's rounds struck the ship, which in actuality was the German operated ex-Italian torpedo boat TA-27 ( now used as a mine layer )......On Peirson's second pass, his rounds apparently struck one of the vessel's mines, for it was engulfed by massive explosion. When the debris cleared, the pilots were rewarded with the sight of the ship rolling over and sikning near Pirano".

O.K the books, same like a films, shoud be also taken with reserve but truth is always somewhere around.

Black guys/pilots were/are capable like the whites with "just" more obstacles and prejudices to fight with on their way to stars.

And on the end I agree with all comments about Hollywood CGI exaggeration of flight maneuvers and such things, don't understand why they
are not consulting people who knows that things better, and still could get film spectacle they want ( remember those CGI's by "Suppon
Tochy"-japanese guys whose short films were interesting and with more realistic effects ( look for Merlins on Youtube ).

Regards to all from Doctor
