Just curious as I am a bit cheap and would be going this route. Worked great in 1946.

yeah, bought a cheap Microsoft lifecam VX-3000 webcam and the trackir track clip pro, took out the IR filter which took me 5 minutes.

up and running in 10 minutes, total cost £45 approx.
