Hello folks,

I post here very rarely but I love the work this community did with EECH. In my opinion it's quite easy to forget that it's such an old game, which pretty much says everything smile

I own EEAH and EECH and am considering buying DCS:BS. Now, I've seen multiple comparisons on the DCS forums and in the DCS section of the SimHQ forums, but they all focus on the simulation aspect. As far as I know, DCS:BS doesn't have a dynamic campaing, but I downloaded the DCS manual from their website and it states that DCS:BS has "unlimited replayability". Is this just marketing talk, or am I forgetting something?

In other words, from a gamer who is also a mild heli enthusiast perspective (from playing Gunship 2000 when I was young smile ), DCS is a brilliant simulation but a poor game, right?

The last sentence does it all in this topic smile
DCS is the most complex physics simulations and avionics, but as the singleplayer game is to play at one time,Multiplayer can only extend the life of this game.
IMHO-not worth it for the singleplayer.Multi+ single- yes This makes sense

Flying Black Shark with some buds from the ED forum was one of the best multiplayer experiences I've had.

As for comparing the two - as far as I am concerned, despite mods EECH remains a retro style action-sim and Black Shark in simulation mode is a full-on modern simulator.

Don't forget you can also use game mode or 'dumb down' the authenticity in BS, if you want a bit more action and a bit less sim.

FH

PS - I also have dozens of add-on missions and campaigns which are of an excellent standard and will keep me entertained for months.

I would sooo like to see DCS cutting the corners, bending the rules, 'acquire' TM 1-1520-251-10 and produce DCS: AH-64D! biggrin

But I guess that's not gonna happen anytime soon... nope

Thanks for your replies guys!

FlashHeart, your reply got me willing to give DCS:BS a try, but sadly, it seems there's no demo available (I thought there was because DCS's website has downloads available).

Given this, and since I cannot afford spending ~30 Euros on games right now, it'll stay on hold.

HerrKaputt, are you from Germany? Amazon.de has DCS:BS for 16,99 Euros.
