For me the sim runs much better after the patch..I can set everything to high now and it is very smooth even with a 8 or 9 plane dogfight and ground objects moving around..I still get a pause once in awhile but not like before..It does not look as good but sure runs better,,thanks for a great patch!

I noticed that while the frame rate hasn't increased much, the consistency of frame rate has improved as well. No seemingly random wild swings that I had before.

Most of us should see gains from what I understand. In particular, people who run with aircraft icons, navigation icons, and the map open should see larger fps gains, and the fps hits during big furballs with lots of tracers should be much reduced. Not to mention the reduced "shimmer" of the terrain might let people turn down their AA settings.

I turn it to "full difficulty" except for the "start with warmed engine."

Seems worse for me after the patch. It could just be the number of objects that are coming up in my campaign missions. Totally unplayable at 1680x1050 with 8x AF, 4x AA, vsync on, all on high except landscape, no post effects despite the fact that the tab displays only using 46% video memory usage. That number seems totally useless for judging how the game will perform. I guess I will have to go back to smaller resolutions with everything on off or low despite the fact that when I have done that it really didn't help that much.

I am also getting worse performance since the patch with micro stutters when there's a lot action when I never had it with the same mission previously. I was using nHancer to force the settings but have also tried just using Nvidia's control panel to try and force the settings and have tried it set application controlled and there's no difference. SO far it is not a good patch for me.

Hmm. . .the plot thickens.
Are you using in game AA or forcing AA through the driver settings? Most of us force the settings through the drivers/nHancer. I wonder if it's changed in game AA performance. In Catalyst Control Center, I have it set to 8x AF, 4x AA. I also have the in game settings set to the same things. I don't know much about these issues, so I am not sure what needs to be set where to get this stuff working properly.

Yes, same here, im running at 5040x1050 all maxed (in game settings, post process off, AA 4X, AF 8X, all HIGH) and get 30+FPS, btw RoF uses all four CPU cores, around 60% load.

With ingame AA options turned on i get a hard FPS hit, they are arround 10-20 fps then. With forces AA by ncp i have 30-60 fps
