That was embarrassingly bad.

Alan, don't get razzed, we are just sim die hards and will crap on anything remotely unrealistic. From a purely entertainemnt standpoint, yeah, it was fun to watch. Just not very realistic. The acting was a bit overdone I think, but the effects were cool. -Skater

Alan: I thought it was cool. Somebody put a lot of work into that bit, and it was fun to watch. Wasn't nearly as schlocky as say..."Top Gun", which was absolutely horrendous. Little Tommy Cruise as a fighter pilot? Yeah how about Truman Capote leading the D-Day landings in The Longest Day. A real engagement would be boring. A little Hollywood cheesynes can be fun. Kinda like Jerry Bruckheimer meets Tom Clancy. When you put all the emoting, and naval gazing, and preachey PC schlock in there is when it gets too nausiating for me. A good example of a rotten airplane movie: Iron Eagles and all it's incarnations for example. Those were real vom-fests. This little bit was fun. No stupid vollyball scenes, no rediculous bar scenes, just good tango smacking violence. Hoo-ah! I'll watch your posts gladly, and won't run you down for sharing something fun. It's kind of like playing Command And Conquer. Sure it's not 100% accurate, but it's enjoyable, at leas for me. Then again I march to the beat of my own drummer. Got my own opinions on everything, and they most often run contrary to the "popular wisdom". Also on the plus side. Not only did this bit not have Tom Cruise, it Didn't have that schmendrake Owen Wilson either. That's a win/win in my book Thanks for the cool link.

Please tell me that anyone who went to see Stealth was either: Hoping to see some T&A from a hot chick-- or Was paid by the local news rag to critique the movie. or any reason but entertainment. Otherwise, I shall lose some self-esteem by mere association with this crowd....

Stealth! Ha, what a joke. I think flight sims have ruined me when it comes to entertainment centered on fighter planes. I'm at work, so I watched without sound. I didn't think it was too cheesy, and that's probably because the dialog was blocked out. At least there was some semblance of realism in the cockpit systems and the enemy fighter was real, not some F-5 like in Top Gun. Agreed: the SAM footage was awesome if you don't count the vertical climb and descend (he should've flown around a city block and had the missile stop at the intersection, deciding to go left or right  ). I also liked following the electrical signal from the stick to the missile and following the flame down the engine to the afterburner. Those were cool scenes.

Hey... can't you guys put "realism" into your back pocket for some time, and just enjoy "entertainment"? IMHO.... the video was good. Especially liked the decoy part, reminds me of my JF-18 days. Just curious why they'd task just ONE aircraft. Oh well, at least it's not "watch the birdie!"
