That sounds vaguely familiar, but I can't be specific.
Corrupted file? Did you disable antivirus before installing? Laptop settings off? DX9 installed?
Those are my initial thoughts. Hopefully, someone else knows specifically what that error message means.
Actually I'm not 100% sure it had me download DX9 upon install. I'll try that and see. I also had AntiVirus enabled but last time I did it I had no troubles.
