Since is an very old stick (discontinued in 2003) as in any other game (DCS, CloD, 1946..) work, with some issues. Latest update (3.008) - of IL-2:GB, add this:

"3. Force Feedback joystick owners who experience stutters can alter the new value in startup.cfg that governs the maximum frequency of FFB effects polling to try to eliminate them (update_freq parameter in [KEY = force_feedback] section can be set to a value from 0.5 Hz to 10 Hz, example: update_freq = 10.0);"

It's still MS FFB2 USB, after their demise only the failed Logitech G-940 was released and discontinued in an year or two due QC issues.

Are developments like Brunner CLS-E Force Feedback joystick base, but besides be expensive is supported only be some games.

For those who might be budget conscious, Speedlink do a cheap joystick, the 'Phantom Hawk', which comes with vibration-feedback. For me, it gives good warning of when I am approaching a stall and is a useful flying aid. The stick itself is quite precise for its price level.
