I have both Shadowrun Returns and Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut

I just installed Shadowrun Returns and apparently, part of the DLC is Dragonfall. In fact, the main menu page says Dragonfall. I see my Returns install folder at 3.7GB whereas if I were to install Dragonfall, it says it'll need 7GB.

Now first of all, I'm confused now. I know Returns came out first and I know some people recommend playing Dragonfall, but I thought "well, I'll start out with the first game." So is the DLC Dragonfall different from Director's Cut? Will starting with Returns give me anything once I start Dragonfall? Can I just skip Returns and go to Dragonfall? Anyone know what's on the Director's Cut? I'm guessing with the bigger filesize, I guess that's more goodies.

The reason everyone recommends dragonfall over returns was the huge improvement in UI and gameplay so they made the director's cut with better improvements. Both games are fun but their campaigns are not linked to each other.

Ah... well, Returns doesn't seem to be grabbing my attention very well so might as well try Dragonfall.
