Got a great deal on an AR this weekend, PSA lower and upper, 1/7 barrel, magpul stock and forearm, plus a Vortex surefire red dot, all for less than $850. I still have a lot to learn about the AR, but I've wanted since I was 14, so I'm tickled pink. Got an 18.5" barrel on the way for the 870 as well. Probably not going to make it to the range this weekend, but next weekend it's playtime! I've shot 50 rounds so far using just ironsights at 30 yards (max of the indoor range), and its shooting less than 1 MOA. Need to get the red-dot zeroed as well. Already thinking about getting a light on it, maybe a different stock eventually, but I see far less on this that I want to change vs my 870. I have to say that PSA makes a solid rifle!

Nice rifle, that's somewhat like the one I have for 3-gun as well.

If you're going to use it on the side defensively or for night shoots I would go ahead and get the light, but otherwise it should serve you well 24/7 wink

I like the Strikefire on my AR. Dirt cheap quality optics. You'll get comments from the EOtech/ACOG snobs, but Vortex makes good glass. I'll be getting the VMX-3T flip to side magnifier soon to go with it.

That's a good one. Welcome to the black.

Peally: Thanks! That's what I'm pondering. I've got a shotgun for home defense, but couldn't hurt to have it as a backup. Alongside the trusty XD.

Lobber: It does seem like a great scope. Sure I'd love to have to a ACOG, but that's down the road and not a priority. Hadn't heard about the flip to side magnifier, I'll have to look into it.

Oldgrognard: Thank you sir!

What would you guys recommend for a good sling? I have 2 points on the rifle, but this is one option that overwhelms me a bit, and I'd like to get one.

Thanks in advance!

I prefer (modernized) two points myself. One point allows for too much flopping around and banging into your groin and three points are like being completely strapped into your rifle, there's no maneuverability.

Something similar to this:

Yep, I put one like that on Murpy's rifle. The adaptable two points are my choice.

Thank you very much, that sling looks very promising.
