I would dare say that in the couple of months that WOFF has been out, OBD has put out more patches with fixes AND new features than most developers put out over the course of a lifetime on a particular product. Thanks for all that you do guys. It really is appreciated.

V1.14h 4206

1) Improved Run Time Map implemented.
2) Addon Packs Version Number now displayed in workshops.
3) Claims 'aircraft possibles' list now includes a year either side of aircraft exit/entry dates for early usage in top squads and for poor squads using older craft types.
4) Workshops layout neatened and categorised.
5) New Feature: Run Time Map size setting in workshops implemented.
6) New Feature: Labels Transition Distance settings in workshops implemented.
7) New Feature: 'Dot Label' maximum render distance setting in workshops implemented - Long range (Ca 20km) or Limited to Current TAC range (whether TAC is visible or not).
Note this a 'Dot Label' and not to be confused with the aircraft model lowest level 'dot' and thus aircraft spotting distances.
8) Morane Top speed reduced.
9) Camel Low Lod model improved.
10) New Feature: Urgent Messages - low fuel level warnings implemented (remember you can toggle messages Shift+D).
11) Nieuport24Bis was not allocated squadron default skin in some squads - fixed.
12) Mission Target circle of 'successful mission damage radius' increased - Balloons etc should now be correctly reported by the CO as destroyed if they were the target etc.

I have to admit, the number of fixes being made is impressive. It shows you the difference between a game producer who wants to get the job done right, rather than just viewing the patch as a half-baked bone to throw at users who happen to note a problem or complain.

Huge thanks from me. Very pleased to see that something's changing in the map.
However, the dot labels still don't match TAC in my case (whatever I choose in the Workshops)

I'm seeing the same thing. It's entirely possible that I don't know what I'm doing. Load times seemed faster, but I could just be imagining things. Either way I love the game and the support. I'm totally obsessed with this game and that hasn't happened in forever. cheers

I may not understand this well enough but if my TAC range is set to 4km shouldn't dots appear only at 4km or less?
In the below pic is not clealry visible beacuse the forum resizes them (you may right click on it and choose "see Image" or whatever is called in your browser), but you can see many dots in the horizon far beyond my TAC range.

Guys - No the Dot labels DISAPPEAR at the TAC range if set to do so.
The setting in workshops is called "Dot labels MAX Range"
If in flight you then change your TAC range, yes they vanish at the new range your TAC is set to.
(Just a thought but if it doesn't maybe try setting it to Long Range then back to RAC Range to make sure it's setup).

Or if you set to "Max Range" they vanish at approx 20km (depending on weather/aircraft size etc) as per the workshop.

The other settings "Ident Labels Avg Distance (m)" in workshop dictate the progression from one label type to the next. I.e. when each label type switches to the next type. Full Labels -> ID labels (Se5a etc) -> "aircraft" -> DOT label.

So if you use Identy + Dots labels, then if you look in that section in Workshops the OBJ column is when "object labels" turn off (APPROX), that's when the DOT labels come on.

OBJ = the grey label that says "aircraft"


Hover mouse over the many of the settings or options for descriptions!

Seems complicated but not really.


* Note this only works with Indenty+Dots label mode. It currently doesn't work with Dots labels only.

If people like it we can implement on Dots only mode. *

Quite a lot.

You can specify size in Workshop.
The "appearance" includes a better more accurate map as per the history of changes on website.
There are options in the Workshop to turn off your waypoints (and so aircraft icon too) for those that like to fly more full real.
Better front line indication.
