I just tried the demo of Histwar. I have been following this one's progress for some time now. My first impressions are as follows
- The atmospheric music is excellent, nothing like killing to pipes and drums
-The cannon sounds are nicely done, very thunderous
- I really like the concept of delayed orders, helps simulate the complexity of this manner of warfare.
- I find the interface workable, but clunky
- the graphics are poor, to the point of being distracting.
I have seen the naploleonic era (in my opinion) much better simulated in Nalopeon's Last Battle Waterloo. For me, unit moving,formations and flanking were much more intuitive.
Perhapse I am only focusing on the negatives,and have not given the game enough time. Has anyone seen something here that would cause them to choose this over Waterloo?
