Hi everyone who is still alive.
It's time to show a well known zombie in a little different environment.
It's still zombie, but it may be interesting for someone.

Install 1.16.0.
Download https://filebin.net/0j0fjnth30lnylg4 and extract it into your EE\cohokum.
Run COHOKUM_VR_30JUN24.exe.
Use Alt-Scroll Lock to recenter your VR hetm if needed.
Use your mouse and joystick as usual.
You can change the resolution of main window/UI in options, resolution of VR is selected in SteamVR options.
You can choose audio devices as well.

For me the FPS is too low. I double better hardware will solve the problem.

You can run it with "perf:1" in the command line to see details in perf.log file (created after a normal exit) like
Code
				006.442 (0 0) cockpit draw
					006.441 (0 0) draw_hokum_virtual_cockpit
						006.401 (0 0) scene
							005.944 (0 0) normal low
								005.935 (587 86) ZBUF OBJECT
							000.421 (0 0) trans low
								000.418 (54 26) ZBUF TRANS OBJECT

milliseconds.microseconds (drawcalls texturesused) name
subranges, time of them is included into superrange, counts are not.

100 textures for a single cockpit is a show stopper.

Hi firebird.
Are you talking about virtual reality helmets or glases?
I am glad you still here, thank you very much.

EE is run under Windows yet.
The new functionality uses OpenVR library for VR experience.
That OpenVR directs calls into SteamVR.
SteamVR is linked with some VR headset by its owner.

I don't know if SteamVR allows to configure helmets only or glasses as well. I do have an experience with Vive and Pico usage via SteamVR.

What do you mean by VR glasses? Completely PC-incompatible devices?

BTW, probably I see an opportunity of rendering speed up.

Hi Firebird,

Nice to see you are still around and managed to survive Covid.

So many people have left the forum.

Stay safe.

Thank you, Andy.

The river is surely not the same, people come and go.

But I hope everyone does what he likes despite global and local problems.

BTW, do you have VR or your hardpit is much better?

When we made a support of two sound card (for speech and for outer sounds) in 2011 - did we guess that those with good speakers will have yet another sound device in their VR helmets?

Hi Firebird,

I don't use VR as I have a middle ear problem and get dizzy when I try it. Still working on the pit.

When you do something right it sometimes has advantages you didn't expect in the future.

Cheers,

Andy

When I was a child I thought that a middle ear is something right between left ear and right ear. wink
But travelling through age gives us knowledge of many body parts we haven't known before. wink
