I thought about checking out Jack Ryan until I read multiple sources saying that it was chock full of the modern "woke" silliness so I decided to pass.
I just finished watching season 3. I would not say that it is full of woke silliness. What are the complaints about it?
I think most peoples problem was the plot of season 2.
My tolerance for wokeness in TV programs is pretty low and I didn't find seasons 1/2 too objectionable. Some degree of woke ideology is simply unavoidable in most any new programming.

Actually the Predator on HULU got very good reviews for the most part and it was a streaming success for HULU as far as how many people watched it.
Concerning the Alien franchise, the last one (Covenant) had a very disappointing box office performance so it just makes financial sense to release the next one on a streaming service.

Covenant earned that poor performance. The writers actually killed a large ship with a neutrino storm!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the greatest WTF moments I've ever experienced watching a movie. Neutrinos are those tiny, neutral particles, of which 100 trillion pass through our bodies every single second.

And yet I’d say that maybe 2-3% of those in the audience caught that mistake in Covenant.
I definitely get your point though Blastman!

I'll keep an open mind and will give it a shot. If it ends up sucking then at least we will always have Alien and Aliens to watch over and over again.

Has Jason Statham ever done a non-action movie role?
